Magnificent palaces with hundreds of steps and statue of Vittorio Emanuel II monument at the top, and the beauty of Rome that can be enjoyed from its peak, is the largest monument in excess of this Rome. Small fountain with a statue carved ornaments are on the side of the entrance monument. While at the altar like, meet the eternal flame that looked like a tomb guarded by three Roman soldiers.

This classically inspired monument, located in Piazza Venezia, is dedicated to King Vittorio Emanuele II, glorifying national unity and serving as an altar to the ceremonies of state. Designed by G. Sacconi, was built between 1885 and 1911.

The large building stands out in the panorama of the city because the white color of material is erected. A stairway flanked by allegorical groups up to the Altar de la Patria, A. Zanelli.

There in the center, a pavilion is a statue of Rome towards converging two bas-reliefs (Triumph of love of country, right, and Triumph of Labor, left). Under the statue is the tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Two side staircases up to the statue of Victor Emmanuel II, bronze, made by E. Chiavadia and E. Galloni, which stands on a basis which is representative of the main cities of Italy.
