The Colosseum or the Flavian Amphitheater is an old stadium in Rome that the past is used to demonstrate the power of Gladiator against wild beasts.

The Colosseum is a relic of a large theater / Amphitheater which is one of the “Seven Medieval Wonders of the World.” The Roman Coloseum located in the State Capital of Italy, Rome, founded by King Vespasian and completed by his son Titus.

Any opinions about when the year of  Colosseum builded. Some say that the Colosseum was built in the year 79 BC, there is also the opinion that was built between the years of 70-82 AD. But most archaeologists believe that the Colosseum was built in the year of 70-82 AD. Origin of the Colosseum’s name comes from a 130 foot tall statue which called Colossus. The Colosseum is set to accommodate 50,000 spectators.

In the middle of the arena of Colosseum, you can found the labyrinth. In the past, the labyrinth is place to see the fighting shows. Until now, the labyrinth is still maintained like its original form. Similarly like the beast cages.

Do not forget to enjoy the panorama of Rome from the upper floor and buy Colosseum souvenirs at the exit. An official souvenir shop is also available in the Colosseum, but certainly more expensive. Voli Roma
